Movie conventions research: Halloween

 Halloween (1978)


1. In the opening scene (and throughout the whole movie) Michael watched his victims before killing them, similar to what we plan on doing. He also wears a mask and our guy will wear one too.

2. While he watches his victims it’s usually quiet so we get a feel of the area or setting, then when he’s about to kill or killing music starts playing making it more suspense.

3. I feel like most kills could’ve been avoided and that people in the movie sometimes just tend to make simple mistakes that get them killed.

 For our music video, my group decided to do a song called “Just The Two of Us” by Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Withers. As this song falls under the R&B genre, the targeted audience, at least in the modern age, is African-Americans (due to the history of R&B with that community), as well as the younger people of the world, mostly adolescents to young adults. - R&B music videos typically attempt to catch the audience sense of attraction. - Older R&B music videos showed men as sophisticated and charming, wearing suits, which attracted to the female audience. - Modern R&B music videos show men as attractive and strong. Most men in modern R&B are tattooed and shirtless, attracting most younger women and showing themselves as strong and wealthy. - The artists in modern R&B also have outfits which include, but aren’t limited to: no shirt, or some plain shirt, a strapped back hat, and some sort of dark pants. Filming blog: after school  On December 9th  we started recording. My group and I scheduled to record after school. I was only going to film so I didn’t have to come in any costume. The only problem with the day we choose was that it was a day I had a drama meet.  One of our team members didn’t show up so it was only the three of us. George, Juliana, and me. I couldn’t make it for first half of the recording because of the  drama meet so George and Julianna had to wing it. I was in charge of recording scenes for them since it was only the 3 of us and they were the stars of the show. I met up with them after the drama meet at Dairy Queen. We walked to an empanada place near the school and got food before I recorded a scene for them. I’m not the best at holding the camera still but I tried to keep it as steady as I could and made sure to get all the right angles we needed.
